Currently, I am in the query process for my YA Fantasy adventure, The Sword of Almora. It’s a week before Callen’s seventeenth birthday. All he ever wanted was to be recognized by his stepfather, King Thaddeus. Callen’s mother died when he was just a child. Callen is the deposed son of a conquered kingdom and now a curiosity at court. He has no family. He has no kingdom. And he has little hope of being anything more than a servant to the king. When the beautiful and mysterious Samaria arrives, Callen discovers he has magical abilities which he must hide. But he’d do anything to impress the king, even hunting witches, which means turning on his own kind. When the castle is attacked, Callen must decide to accept his magic or deny his heritage. After all, magic is forbidden and punishable by death—but sometimes you have to break the rules in order to save those you love. Using magic will either deliver Callen a kingdom or damn him to death.
